Why it holds better
Instead of one flat magnet, the base uses a multi magnet circuit with alternating N and S poles packed into a compact 2.6 inch disc. That layout concentrates magnetic flux at the surface instead of losing it through the material, so it grips steel through paint, primer and grime without sliding.
